About Claudia
Claudia received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, San Francisco, California. She is a certified QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Instructor, a certified Mindfulness Instructor and a certified ACT - Raising Safe Kids Program Facilitator. Claudia has more than 20 years of experience in Clinical Psychology with the specialization in Trauma Therapy. Claudia is certified in TF-CBT. She is bilingual, fluent in Spanish and in English. She is certified as a Bilingual Mental Health Clinician and registered as a Health Care Interpreter. Claudia also speaks and reads German.
Prior to relocating to Bend, Oregon, Claudia lived in Walnut Creek, California for more than 17 years. In California she provided her professional skills as a Team Leader in Mental Health working with children, adolescents, families and female residents from the County Juvenile Hall. She worked at the Contra Costa County Mental Health Department and at Kaiser Permanente in California.
Claudia enjoyed her work with Seniors providing psycho-education and mindfulness practice to them in both Spanish and English. She served 4 years as a Board Member of The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Contra Costa County. She enjoyed her 5 year term as a Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Track & Field coach for 2nd to 8th grade children in Walnut Creek. Also she was a Co-founder and former co-owner of FETZONE, an Environmental Company in California for 13 years.
Before moving to California, Claudia began her Doctoral program in Psychology at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. She successfully concluded her BS in Psychology in Lima, Peru from Ricardo Palma University. She worked as the Director of the Research Department of the Peruvian Consortium of Catholic Schools. Claudia participated in different International Conferences of Psychology as a Lecturer and in International Research Projects (Peru, Spain, Greece, and Brazil).
In Bend, Claudia finished her first Children's book about Trauma. The book has an English and Spanish version. She is a Professor at Central Oregon Community College (COCC). Currently Claudia is at work on a Workbook to help families overcome trauma reminders through mindfulness. Last but not least, Claudia complements her professional activities with sports such as cycling and running.
